What is Edarbyclor?

Edarbyclor contains a combination of azilsartan and chlorthalidone. Azilsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Chlorthalidone is a thiazide diuretic used to prevent fluid retention. Together, Edarbyclor can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Always read the instructions before taking Edarbyclor.
Always follow your doctor’s directions.

  • Edarbyclor can be taken with or without food
  • Continue to use the prescribed amount, even if you feel recovered
  • Store at room temperature and away from heat, light, and moisture

Tell your doctor the following before taking Edarbyclor:

  • If you are unable to urinate
  • If you have liver or kidney disease
  • If you have gout
  • If you have an electrolyte imbalance
  • If you have low levels of blood potassium
  • If you have heart disease
  • If you have a history of stroke
  • If you are dehydrated

Do not take Edarbyclor if you are:

  • Pregnant
  • Planning to become pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Younger than 18 years old

Side Effects of Edarbyclor

Common side effects of Edarbyclor:

  • Dizziness

Seek medical help if you experience:

  • Little to no urination
  • Swelling
  • Weight gain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Signs of electrolyte imbalance: dry mouth, extreme thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, muscle pain, weakness, fast heart rate, and drowsiness

Is Edarbyclor a blood pressure medication?

Yes, Edarbyclor contains azilsartan and chlorthalidone to prevent fluid retention (edema) and is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

What is chlorthalidone used for?

On its own, chlorthalidone is a thiazide diuretic (water pill). It helps to reduce the amount of salt that your body absorbs. Together with azilsartan, this medication can lower blood pressure.

What are some risk factors when taking chlorthalidone?

Chlorthalidone may cause the body to retain uric acid and increase blood sugar. Those with a history of gout or diabetes should talk to a doctor before starting Edarbyclor.
